January Wrap Up & Haul

Hey guys! The month of January is finally over… I don’t know about you but I feel like New Years was ages ago. Usually I can’t believe how fast time has gone by but nope, not this time. I think it’s because I’m really overdue on some time off from work so I’ll be taking some days in February. I’m very excited about having some time off to relax, read and do nothing. I’m counting down the days. But ringing in a new year is always fun and January has been kind.

Books Read

I read a total of 4 books this month, which I’m okay with. My reading this month started off sort of “meh”. The first two books I read I didn’t enjoy too much but the last books I read completely slayed my existence. I think if I would’ve just read those two books this month I still would’ve been happy because honestly, they completely overshadow the first two.

  • Dirty by Kylie Scott – ⭐⭐⭐
  • Satisfaction by Lexi Blake -⭐⭐
  • The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi -⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo -⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have reviews for Dirty and Satisfaction if you’re interested in reading my thoughts. I’m currently working on reviews for The Star-Touched Queen and Six of Crows. I’ll hopefully have them up soon. Both were books that had been sitting on my shelves for ages and I’m so happy to have picked them up. I couldn’t tell you which one I loved the most it’s a definite tie.

On My Blog

I basically got back into blogging after a few months away and I have to say I’m very happy to be doing this again. I put up 19 post this month which is insane and probably the most post I’ve put up in this blog in one month. Here are some post I enjoyed writing this month.

Book Haul

I did good this month as far as book buying goes. I’m trying to be extra cautious when I buy books because unfortunately I have next to no space left on my shelves. All books bought were new releases except for The Essential Rumi which I bought to replace an old copy. What sucks is that the majority of the books released on the 31st so I didn’t have them with me and will have to rollover to my TBR for next month.

  • The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
  • The Essential Rumi by Jalaluddin Rumi, Coleman Barks(Translator)
  • The Crystal Ribbon by Celeste Lim
  • Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer
  • Caraval by Stephanie Garber

So how’d it go this month? What was your favorite read? Did you do anything exciting this month? Let me know & thanks for reading!
