This weeks T5W topic is on polarizing books. These are books that people either tend to love or hate, with no in between. This is a very interesting topic and I’m interested to see what books makes everyone’s list. We all have different taste and I think it’ll be fun to see what books everyone loves/hates compared to others taste.
Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer – The Twilight saga is probably THE best example of polarizing books. I personally love the book series. Is it problematic? Yes. But twilight was THE book that got me back into reading so I’ll always like it for that reason.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas – There is no doubt that Sarah J Maas is a queen but I was surprised to see that some people actually hated this book. I mean I love it and I’ve had friends read it with the intension of not continuing with the series because they hated it that much. Thankfully I’ve convinced them to read ACOMAF (which they love). Which can also be included in this list cause everyone seemed to enjoy it. Its very interesting when two books in a series are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum.
The Selection Series by Kiera Cass – I was late to pick up this series but I did because everyone was raving about it and I didn’t like it. I tried. Even after not really liking the first book I still thought that maybe it’d get better somehow but it go worst. So I feel like I’m on a deserted island with my feelings for this book. Then she (the author) continued the story with their daughter. And I’m just like, why? WHY?
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins- All my thoughts on this book can be found here. But I’ll just say that I really didn’t like this book.
Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare – People will say what they will about the Mortal Instruments but everyone LOVES the infernal devices.
Let’s chat & me know in the comments what you think about this topic. Have a lovely day. Till next time!
