Top Ten Tuesday – Debuts I’m excited for

img_0452Hello & Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. If you didn’t already know what Top Ten Tuesday was about, every week you are given a topic and you then create a top ten list in response to that topic. Top Ten Tuesday was created by the gals over at The Broke and Bookish. Check them out, their blog is pretty cool. If you’re interested or want to learn more click here for a look at their Top Ten Tuesday page.

Today’s Top ten Tuesday is all about Debut novels. I will admit I’m sort of ashamed that I only knew of one. But after some research (Thank you Twitter and GoodReads!) I was able to make a list of some books that I’m now very excited to get to this year.

27883214Caraval by Stephanie Garber (1/31/17) – This book has been getting ALOT of buzz for some months now. Actually, I think since last year’s BEA event. Hearing about it for so long has definitely made me want it even more. Good thing its set to come out this month.

The Education of Margot Sanchez by Lilliam Rivera (2/21/17) – The first thing that stood out to me was SANCHEZ. The protagonist is Hispanic and that makes me so, so happy. Also that cover is gorgeous. The synopsis sets this up as Pretty in Pink coming to South Bronx. I mean… Everything I just wrote makes me super happy.

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller (2/28/17) – It’s a tale about the daughter of a PIRATE king… need I say more?

32051569Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones (2/7/17) – I don’t think that I’ve ever read any stories about Goblins so I’m very interested. Also, the queen Renee Ahdieh loves it and that’s all I need to know about this book.

Poison’s Kiss by Breeana Shields (1/10/17) – This story is based on Indian Folklore which I think is super cool. I have a good feeling that I’ll like this book even though saying that it will “thrill” fans of Sarah J Maas is setting the bare pretty high.

Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popović (8/15/17) – The cover for this book is maybe one of my favorites and I don’t even have the book yet. Also the description is 10/10

Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza (2/7/17) – I wasn’t a fan of books set in space until Illuminae. I LOVE Illuminae. So I figured I’d try my luck with this one. Also, Adam Silvera describe this book as Arya Stark in space. I mean that sounds so badass already.

31931948Romancing the Throne by Nadine Jolie Courtney (5/30/17) – If I’m not mistaken, this isn’t the author’s first novel but it is her first YA novel so it stays. This novel sounds like a fun contemporary read. I have a feeling it’s going to be funny and I’m going to have some second hand embarrassment which is always fun.

This Beats Perfect by Rebecca Denton (2/2/17) – Like Romancing the Crown, this sounds like a fun contemporary read. I’m always on the lookout for books that give me those Stephanie Perkins feels. I have a hunch that this will do just that.

The Color Project by Sierra Abrams (11/1/17) – A girl that doesn’t want anyone to know her name?… What do you mean? I have to know!

As always, I want to hear from you! Let me know what debut books you’re excited to read this year, especially if they didn’t make this list. Is it just me or is almost every book on this list have a release date in February? Good to know I’ll be broke ahead of time lol. I hope you guys are having a loving day so far, till next time
