Top Ten Tuesday – June 14th,2016

toptentuesdayHello & Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. If you didn’t already know what Top Ten Tuesday was about, every week you are given a topic and you then create a top ten list in response to that topic. Top Ten Tuesday was created by the gals over at The Broke and Bookish. Check them out, their blog is pretty cool. If you’re interested or want to learn more click here for a look at their Top Ten Tuesday page.

This weeks Top Ten topic is Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The Second Half Of The Year. I got really excited for this topic because YAY MORE BOOKS! I definitely think this year as a whole has a lot of highly anticipated books making the whole book community very very happy.  I mean I know I am! I’ll be listing the books in publishing order so without further ado here are some of the books that I’m anticipating.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD1. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One & Two by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne & John Tiffany (Release Date: July 31st)

Of course I’ll start this list with Harry Potter because come on its Harry Potter. It might just be the script but I’ll take it because 1) We’ll probably NEVER get more Harry Potter books & 2) Let’s face it the probability of me getting to see this play is very slim. So I’ll take what I can get.

2.  Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (Release Date: August 9th)

I’ve only read Illuminae which Kristoff co-wrote with Amie Kaufman and I loved it. I don’t really know what this book is about because I don’t want to know too much about it but all I know is that its a fantasy and you can never have too much fantasy. Am I right?

3. Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi (Release Date: August 30th)

I’ve wanted to read more Mafi since I finished the Shatter Me trilogy. Her writing is so beautiful and I’m really excited to see how it reflects in this middle grade book.

FURTHERMORE4. Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas (Release Date: September 6th)

I mean do I need a reason?! I’m sure this will be on a lot of peoples lists.

5.The Wasp that Brainwashed the Caterpillar: Evolution’s Most Unbelievable Solutions to  Life’s Biggest Problems by Matt Simon (Release Date: October 25th)

I’m kind of a fan of Simon’s Absurd Creature of the Week column over at WIRED. They’re short but very entertaining reads.

STRANGE THE DREAMER6. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (Release Date 27th)

This is without a doubt my most anticipated release of the year.Laini Taylor can seriously do no wrong in my eyes. The Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy is one of my favorite book series ever and I’m so happy that we’re finally getting a new book series from her.

7. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (Release Date September 27th)

I might have to take a sick day on September 27th cause its going to be a glorious day.

8. The Midnight Star by Marie Lu (Release Date: October 11th)

Even though I haven’t read The Rose Society yet I really enjoyed The Young Elites and I’m looking forward to see how Lu concludes the book series.

GEMINA9. Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff (Release Date: October 18)

I loved Illuminae when I read it earlier this year. It was such a crazy and unexpected ride. The physical book is gorgeous and I can’t wait to get my hands on Gemina. I have a review( more like a mad woman rant) on Illuminae if you want to check out. BEWARE OF SPOILERS!

10. Heartless by Marissa Meyer (Release Date: November 8th)

After the Lunar Chronicles I’m excited to see what Meyer does with a retelling on the Queen of Hearts. I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

Okay guys so that’s the list. I didn’t think it would be hard to reduce this to just ten books but it was. There are so many great books still to come. Let me know some of the books you’re highly anticipating I’d love to know. Have a great week guys till next time.
